Craig Gering

Motion Picture Agent & Executive, CAA

Craig Gering is an Executive and Motion Picture Agent at leading entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Gering works in both the New York City and Los Angeles offices and represents many of the world’s leading filmmakers and actors, including Darren Aronofsky, Jesse Eisenberg, Tom Ford, Lee Daniels, Chris Pine, Joe Kosinski, David Gordon Green, Todd Haynes, Jeff Nichols, Todd Field, Derek Cianfrance, Alexander Payne, Sam Raimi, Jason Bateman, Nancy Meyers, Denis Villeneuve, Brady Corbet, and Ang Lee.

Gering also leads CAA’s Washington, D.

C. initiative, representing former President Joseph R. Biden, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, former Vice President Kamala D. Harris, Secretary Antony J. Blinken, Senator Joe Manchin, and Representative Justin J. Pearson.

Prior to joining CAA in 1999, Gering was a Motion Picture Agent at the William Morris Agency (WME) for two years, working out of both its New York and Los Angeles offices. Before joining WME, Gering served as Director of Production and Development at Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal’s Tribeca Productions in New York City, where he supervised such films as A BRONX TALE, FAITHFUL, and MARVIN’S ROOM. Contrary to Hollywood lore, Gering did not begin his film career as De Niro’s limousine driver, but rather as a location scout for various feature films in New York. In the early days of scouting locations for A BRONX TALE, De Niro was a frequent passenger in the scouting vehicle.

Through the CAA Community and Impact division, Gering is actively involved in a number of volunteer and charitable activities. Additionally, he and his family support the YWCA, CoachArt, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

A native of New York, Gering received his bachelor’s degree from Boston University. He lives with his wife, Jane, and their three children, Holden, Gable, and Blythe.
